JOB TITLE: MATERIAL RESOURCE PLANNING SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY: This person will be a first point of contact for VRC vendors. They will work with production and administrative staff to ensure that the materials needed to achieve VRC’s mission are available in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the direction and supervision of the entire procurement and warehouse operations
- Receive and review all procurement requests for completeness and identifies priorities
- Oversee the accurate completion of all purchase orders to include the proper documentation of materials and cost expenditures
- Ability to work with and modify an ERP system
- Oversee new vendor onboarding and monitoring as company needs dictate
- Help to ensure a close relationship with current vendors, suppliers, and contractors to remain current on pricing, and availability as well as resolving procurement problems.
- Help to ensure regular checks are occurring comparing existing vendors against other suppliers of equivalent products
- Assist with the assembly of information and participate in external audits
- Ensure all processes and procedures are created, implemented and up to date for procurement and warehouse functions
- Monitor all outstanding purchase orders and requisitions to ensure fulfillment or cancellation without loss of funds
- Monitor all purchase orders to ensure there is no disruption to production or system installations
- Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels to ensure Sales Orders are fulfilled within lead times.
- Maintain required administrative files and records pertaining procurement and warehouse
- Provide guidelines, explain requirements and execute required training to procurement and warehouse employees
- Compile and submit various procurement related reports

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:
$70,000 – 85,000 per year
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Two or more persons in purchasing and warehousing functions
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree or higher in a related field
- Two years’ experience in a procurement office environment
- Two years’ supervisory experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals - Strong proof-reading skills for grammar and punctuation
- Write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports in English using prescribed format,
and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style - Ability to speak effectively in English on the phone and in person with vendors and customers
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel at an intermediate level
- Advanced knowledge of inventory management software desired
- Accounting software skills a plus
- Proficient in electronic forms of communication including email, web searching, and data organization
- Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems
REASONING ABILITY:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
- Read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
