JOB TITLE: LABORATORY TECHNICIAN, NOVUM NANO

SUMMARY: Novum Nano is seeking a highly motivated laboratory technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting laboratory operations, conducting experiments, preparing materials and samples, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient lab environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of laboratory techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively with team researchers and engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a chemistry laboratory or a similar lab setting preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
- Familiar with chemical safety protocols and hazard management.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to present results clearly and concisely.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in particle synthesis and preparing samples for experiments and evaluations
- Conduct laboratory tests and analysis and document results accurately
- Produces Novum Nano products as directed
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Handle, storage, and dispose chemicals in accordance with safety regulations and protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Record and interpret experimental data accurately, generate reports, and present findings to senior staff
- Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to development of new lab protocols
- Assist in inventory management, including managing lab supplies and ordering materials
- Work with team members to ensure smooth operation of projects and laboratory functions
- Adhere to safety guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory role, but provides leadership on project teams, directing the staff as appropriate.
SALARY RANGE:
$20-$24/hr
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or environmental sciences (or other relevant science field)
- Preferred 2 years’ experience in a chemical laboratory environment

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals

- Write routine business and technical reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports in English using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style

COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel at an advanced level

- Use mathematical skills to interpret findings, financial information, and prepare budgets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Much of the work will be done in a laboratory type environment with high noise levels, dust, and other hazards associated with machining work.
